SOLIDWORKS Inspection

Improve your efficiency in generating inspection documents with the SOLIDWORKS Inspection Course. It covers how to produce ballooned drawings and automated reports, ideal for streamlining quality control in manufacturing processes.

The SOLIDWORKS Inspection course is designed to introduce participants to the basics of using SOLIDWORKS Inspection automation software. This software is pivotal for creating ballooned drawings and inspection documents efficiently. Throughout the course, participants will gain hands-on experience with both the add-in and standalone versions of SOLIDWORKS Inspection.

SOLIDWORKS Inspection is a First Article Inspection (FAI) tool that streamlines and automates the process of generating ballooned inspection drawings and quality inspection reports, such as AS9102 and PPAP. It consists of a standalone application and a SOLIDWORKS add-in, allowing users to work with legacy data, whether they are SOLIDWORKS files, PDFs, or TIFFs.

The Professional version of SOLIDWORKS Inspection further enhances these capabilities by offering multiple methods for entering measured values directly into the project, thereby simplifying part inspection. Users can manually enter each characteristic value, use a digital caliper, or import results from a coordinate measuring machine (CMM).

Network vs. Standalone

A Network license allows multiple users to share a pool of licenses across a network, while a Standalone license is tied to a single computer and can only be used by one user at a time.

  • If you are a sole user or prefer to have dedicated licenses for each machine, a standalone license will likely be the best option. However, for teams that need to share licenses across multiple users or locations, network licenses offer greater flexibility.

Term vs. Perpetual

With a perpetual license, you own the software and can use it forever, while with a term license, you only have access to the software for the duration of your subscription period.

  • If you have stable design needs, a predictable budget and want to own the software outright, perpetual is your best option. For companies with fluctuating project needs who want lower upfront costs and flexibility to adjust their software usage, term licenses are your best option.
