SOLIDWORKS Engineering Solutions

SOLIDWORKS Design

Mechanical Design

SOLIDWORKS® Mechanical Design Solutions is the most popular world-class 3D parametric design tool.

DraftSight® is professional-grade CAD software that lets you create, edit, view, and markup any 2D or 3D DWG file.

eDrawings Professional allows you to mark up DWG files and view your designs in augmented or virtual reality.

SOLIDWORKS Simulation

Simulation Analysis

SOLIDWORKS® Simulation provides fatigue, linear, non-linear static, and dynamic analysis finite element analysis (FEA) capabilities.

SOLIDWORKS® Flow Simulation lets you quickly and easily simulate liquid and gas flows through and around your designs to calculate product performance and capabilities.

SIMULIA Electromagnetics Engineer offers methods to identify and mitigate electronic devices’ electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) risks.

SOLIDWORKS Electrical Software

Electrical Design

SOLIDWORKS® Electrical Schematic and wire-harness packages provide best-in-class electrical design automation tools that enable you to define electrical interconnections for complex electrical systems efficiently.

Design Documentation Beyond the Drawing

SOLIDWORKS® Visualize allows you to leverage your 3D CAD data to create photo-quality content.

Illustrations & Interactive Content with SOLIDWORKS Composer.

SOLIDWORKS® Model-Based Definition allows you to define and organize 3D dimensions, tolerances, datums, notes, Bills of Material (BOMs), and other annotations.

Manufacturing CNC, Mold Design, FAI, PMI

SOLIDWORKS® CAM – powered by CAMWorks – uses rules-based technology to integrate design and manufacturing in one application, connecting design and manufacturing teams through the SOLIDWORKS 3D design software tool and 3D model.

SOLIDWORKS Project Management Software

Project Management

SOLIDWORKS Project Management Solutions help manufacturers create repeatable processes that protect intellectual property and ensure data integrity. A secure, centralized platform enables real-time collaboration and access from anywhere.

Document Control: SOLIDWORKS PDM delivers fast search, version control, secure access, and automated workflows in a central CAD and document repository.

Network vs. Standalone

A Network license allows multiple users to share a pool of licenses across a network, while a Standalone license is tied to a single computer and can only be used by one user at a time.

  • If you are a sole user or prefer to have dedicated licenses for each machine, a standalone license will likely be the best option. However, for teams that need to share licenses across multiple users or locations, network licenses offer greater flexibility.

Term vs. Perpetual

With a perpetual license, you own the software and can use it forever, while with a term license, you only have access to the software for the duration of your subscription period.

  • If you have stable design needs, a predictable budget and want to own the software outright, perpetual is your best option. For companies with fluctuating project needs who want lower upfront costs and flexibility to adjust their software usage, term licenses are your best option.
