Embedded AI in SOLIDWORKS 2026

Embedded AI in SOLIDWORKS

If you haven’t already been using the embedded AI tools within SOLIDWORKS, you should check it out immediately. Here are all the embedded AI tools you can use now to help you design faster.

Embedded AI isn’t entirely new. These kinds of time saving tools have been there for a long time…

Take the selection accelerator tool bar which helps make suggestions to accelerate tedious picks and clicks like filleting or chamfering various edges. Or even the pattern driven component feature which is a way to speed up adding components to an assembly by recognizing patterned features.

Autogenerate Drawings

Some of the new stuff is incredibly like auto generate drawings. In just a few quick mouse clicks you can automatically have 2d drawings created from the 3D model. Like in this example we automatically had the 2d drawings created for these 3 components.

Command Predictor

The command predictor is an additional ribbon on the command manger which surfaces relevant commands you might want to use making it easier for you to design faster.

AI Repair Tools

There’s also tools to help you quickly resolve isssues like repair sketch which can help you automatically repair any broken references or dangling dimensions. This functionality also can work in assemblies with the ability to automatically repair missing mate references.

Those are just 6 examples of the powerful embedded ai in SOLIDWORKS that can help you design faster.

Stay tuned
… More is coming soon.

Network vs. Standalone

A Network license allows multiple users to share a pool of licenses across a network, while a Standalone license is tied to a single computer and can only be used by one user at a time.

  • If you are a sole user or prefer to have dedicated licenses for each machine, a standalone license will likely be the best option. However, for teams that need to share licenses across multiple users or locations, network licenses offer greater flexibility.

Term vs. Perpetual

With a perpetual license, you own the software and can use it forever, while with a term license, you only have access to the software for the duration of your subscription period.

  • If you have stable design needs, a predictable budget and want to own the software outright, perpetual is your best option. For companies with fluctuating project needs who want lower upfront costs and flexibility to adjust their software usage, term licenses are your best option.
