Turn Engineering Data Chaos Into Military-Grade Organization

Every day, defense engineers waste hours on manual data transfers while critical 3D models disappear into contractor systems. It doesn’t have to be this way.

From Compliance Burden to Strategic Advantage

As defense organizations face mounting pressure to implement Digital Engineering as mandated by the DoD, the gap between security requirements and engineering productivity has never been more critical to address. From security protocols that force cubicle mates to exchange design files via DVD to disassembling $500K vehicles just to create 3D models, the defense industry is losing millions in productivity while compromising the very data security it seeks to protect.

What You’ll Discover Inside:

  • The Real Cost of Data Chaos — Why the DoD is investing $145.7 billion in digital transformation

  • 3 Critical Case Studies — Real scenarios showing how poor data management impacts defense programs

  • Complete Data Governance Framework — Beyond technical implementation to organizational transformation

  • Security-First Approach — Meeting CMMC and NIST 800-171 requirements while enabling collaboration

  • Technology-Enabled Solutions — How integrated SOLIDWORKS ecosystems eliminate data silos

Network vs. Standalone

A Network license allows multiple users to share a pool of licenses across a network, while a Standalone license is tied to a single computer and can only be used by one user at a time.

  • If you are a sole user or prefer to have dedicated licenses for each machine, a standalone license will likely be the best option. However, for teams that need to share licenses across multiple users or locations, network licenses offer greater flexibility.

Term vs. Perpetual

With a perpetual license, you own the software and can use it forever, while with a term license, you only have access to the software for the duration of your subscription period.

  • If you have stable design needs, a predictable budget and want to own the software outright, perpetual is your best option. For companies with fluctuating project needs who want lower upfront costs and flexibility to adjust their software usage, term licenses are your best option.
